Our membership includes about 20 boys who make up four patrols. Our committee consists of one Scoutmaster, three assistant Scoutmasters, a committee chair, a treasurer, an advancement chair, a training coordinator and a secretary.
We like to try different camp sites for our annual summer camp trips, but our favorite so far would be Ransburg in Indiana. Shortly after the local Cub Scout Packs hold their Blue & Gold ceremonies, we have a Parent & Son outing. This allows the new scouts to take a parent along on a short trip with the troop. Adults organize and cook all the meals on this trip. It is a great way for all the boys and parents (new and existing) to get more aquainted and learn more about the troop.
Our troop currently has three fundraisers. For the troop funds we sell funnel cakes at the Village Picnic each year. Also we participate in the annual council popcorn sale plus our own candy bar sale in the spring. Funds from these two go directly into each scouts' personal account. This account can be used to pay for weekend campouts, gear for our trips, uniforms or summer camp, to name a few.
